There is nothing like a little bit (or a lot) of color prints to brighten your day and your outfit...and even better if they have a story behind it. And that is what the kanga (sarongs) has, founder of SUNO Max Osteweis tell us, " Each kanga has a story, wheter it's 70s geometric or traditional east African motifs, such as white dots symbolizing guinea fowl(women)." After more than a decade of collecting textiles from his visits to Kenya, Max Osterweis formed SUNO in 2008. All the design is done in New York abut then the tailoring and fabric (mostly recycle cotton) is done in Kenya. The collection will be available at Opening ceremony in NYC and LA.
First pictures are from his Spring-Summer 2009 Collection and the second are from his Autumn 2009 collection! I always love discovering new designers !
