Do you read your Horoscope?

I don't do it every day but when I do, I love to check Jonathan Cainer. He has a great black humor ( which I adore) but mostly the way he writes takes you beyond what could be view as a a possible prediction....he entices to think!

Here is my Horoscope for today!

If people naturally know what's good for them, how come so many of them smoke? Or drink? Or fall in love with unsuitable partners? Or vote for... well... never mind. Let's just acknowledge that even if we can sometimes tell beyond all doubt that a proposition is constructive, we can fool ourselves too! Worse, having 'bought in' to an undesirable idea or a plan, we refuse to buy ourselves out of it. Or let anyone else talk us out of it! You've now got a chance to replace something wrong with something right. Don't reject it!

Trend: Gaucho Chic

"Argentine is hot, hot, hot, and so are clothes that evoke its colorful cowboy culture...." as seen in Oprah' Magazine.....and who am I to argue withOprah...much to the contrary I couldn't agree more with this statment.

Even though Argentina is well known for the tango or the famous song "Don't cry for me Argentina", there is a Gaucho culture that is where we gather most of our cultural traits, such as the "mate" - a traditional tea that you drink  with a straw, or the "empanadas" and even our passion for polo..!!

The Gauchos are the South America equivalent of the cowboys- with their trademark berets and neck scarves. Las Pamapas, is the region surrounding Buenos Aires that is known for vast Estancias and ranches that are the true land of the gauchos.

Inspired by Oprah's article in this months magazine I wanted to share different Gaucho Chic ways you can dress up this Spring.

Riding into the Sunset

Photobucket

The "bombachas" or gaucho pants are long and slouchy, with a buttoned cuff at the ankle ( to prevent the pant from riding up when riding a horse). If you use it never buttoned the cuff, just leave it open. Bombachas are great pants to show a good "derriere" they are tied at the right places and if you have a little tummy nobody will ever guess. the typical gaucho pants are worn with alpargatas..but if you want to look taller and slimmer go with tall boots or you can match them with some spring sandals.

1. Chloe Poplin Shirt $ 695
2. Gaucho Clothes Texano Hat $ 52
3. Banana Republic Silk Blouse $ 39.99
4. Argentine Polo  Belt (Faja) $ 20
5. Ralph Lauren Cotton gaucho Pants $ 798
6. Argentine Polo "Bombachas" $ 70
7. Toms "Alpargatas" Hunter Green $ 44

Road to Romance

Photobucket

There is something very sexy in a ladylike way when you dress in a fitted long skirt and a silky ruffle blouse...it reminds me of the old times. Don't worry about using a lot of makeup..just some color on your chicks and a neutral shade on your lips and you are ready to go.

1. Az-Tex Hats Fedora $ 49.99
2. BCBG Ruffle Top $ 138
3. Patagonia Gift Celtic Leather Chockr $ 76
4. Intermix Silk Charmeuse Raffle Cami $ 155
5. Ariat Belt $ 55
6. ArdenB Knit Maxi Skirt $ 38
7. Newport News Stud-Trim Suede Skirt $ 59.99
8. Nine West Gabble $ 139
9. Nine West Ucan $ 159

or for the original look you can visit Costello Tagliapietra.

Polo Game

Photobucket

Polo play a big part in the Argentine culture, and even though you might not be going to a polo game there is nothing sexier than a woman dress in riding pants. Actually, you usually do  not wear riding pants when you go to  polo games.
The only issue with riding pants they really don't forgive anything...top condition is a must when you using them. If you are wearing a sandy shade, avoid any cellulite mark by using  tan tides under it.
I love this look..so sexy and feminine.

1.  Jones New York Chain Link Shirt $ 59
2. & 3. Patagonia Gift Silver Bracelets
4. Ariat Belt $ 42
5. Santana Robyn Boots $ 208.96
6. Ralph Lauren Hudson Suede-Patch Jodhpur $ 298
7. Ralph Lauren Kempton Flat Tote $ 595

Spendora in the Grassland

Photobucket

Even though it has a folklore theme to it, I think you can easily show up at a Spring Sunday barbecue in this look. There is something very romantic and fresh sbout this outfit...without it being to risky.

1. Charlotte Russe embroided Blouse $ 21.99
2. Forever21 Peasant Top $ 22.80
3. Ariat Belt  $ 55
4. Guess  Dusty Boots $ 106.54
5. Coutoure Candy Pleated Skirt in White $ 190
6. Patagonia Gift Celtic Bracelet $ 59

Boho in Bloom

Photobucket

How sexy and femenine is this dress? and pairing it up with this spring galdiator sandal...!! A must look for this spring season!

1. Anna Sui Calico Dress $ 484
2. Patagonia Gift Celtic Choker $ 74
3. Patagonia Gift Celtic Bracelet $ 65
4. Nine West Usman Gladiator $ 89

Love to see how cultural items such as "alpargatas" trespass the cultural birthplace  and can be seen walking down the street in Madrid or Hollywood..and even though Gaucho Chic can be perceived  as a seasonal trend I personally think that there is a timeless element to this looks..

So are you going to jump in the Gaucho Chic wagon?

Rock Fashion Week- Ella Bella Fashion Show

<span class=

Ella Bella Couture is known for red carpet evening gowns, young contemporary cocktail dresses and soft and sexy flirty dresses in exquisite silks. And that is what Gabriella Tello delivered yesterday.

Overall there was no aha moment or special dress that you could say stole the show..it was just a lot of different lengths evening dresses with the exception of the swimsuit that opened the show.

Keep reading to watch more photos and a video of the finale.

<span class=

My personal favourite dress of the show is the last one on the right that had a beautiful beaded belt.

Rock Fashion Week- LeiMarco R-T-W Fall 2009 Collection

<span class=

LeiMarco -Made in Italy- Fall collection it felt more like a spring collection (?).. Maybe it was just me that was expecting something different.
Overall, it had a very jet-set vibe to it. The color palette was kept very clean in black, white and reds.

<span class=

Classical suits in shades of grey and sand. The look overall was OK but the ties where not my taste at all. I would say the look was very European..

<span class=

The white blouse on the left was my favourite piece from the collection..the detail was impeccable.

<span class=

Love the bermuda and shirt for men, particularly the white look.

<span class=

The finale was the highlight of the show with an opera singer that sang beautifully  while the models close the collection in swimsuits.

Overall, I would describe the collection as jet-setty, sexy with a strong European touch.

My Day at the Rock Fashion Week in Miami Beach!

Rock Fashion Week at Fontainebleau in Miami Beach started yesterday with media check-in.

Artistry, the exclusive skin care and cosmetic sponsor  for the show, was offering complimentary spa services in a fun bus parked at the front of the Fontainebleau Hotel!

In the upcoming days I will see more of what their fall collection is all about but here is a preview.

I personally did not get any spa service because I was more than excited to meet and interview the fabulous Abi Ferrin.

She will be presenting her Fall Collection today at 9pm. In the meantime, you can visit her web page to see some fabulous clothes from her Spring Collection.

I went into the interview expecting a very "fashion, trend, color palette"conversation but much to my surprise it end being a true life story conversation about supporting women, struggling to achieve one's call and overall meeting a  fashion designer that is an inspiration! Her motto is "Fashion with Freedom and Purpose".Interview post to follow!

I end up such an exciting day having a great Skinny Girl Margarita at the Media Happy Hour!

I was wearing :

Blouse from BCBG
Skinny Jeans from Express
Sandals from BCBG
LV Tote

The schedule for tonight is:

7pm LeiMarco
8pm Ella Bella
9pm Abi Ferrin

You can follow me on Twitter..I will be posting on the moments photos from the show...and any news/ gossip I feel is worth sharing!

Capri Sun Eco-Friendly show was a hit!

As mentioned yesterday here, I was invited to the CAPRI SUN Ready to Re-Wear Runway Show! and what a great experience!

<span class=
Anna Sophia Robb was the host for the event.  (Wearing a dress by designer Cynthia Steffe).

The show featured clothes from Bloomingdale's and all the accessories where from CapriSun drink pouches. At the end of the show a one of a kind dress designed entirely of CapriSun pouches was presented.

<span class=

The unique dress, crafted by designer Justina Blakeney of Campai, a company renowned for rehabilitating "used and abused" clothing, is being auctioned online for Charity. Please visit:

All proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Please keep reading to find out how you can also be a part of the Pouch Brigade and to see more photos from the event.

I applaud CapriSun for such a great way to teach kids, in a very fashionable way, that they can have an impact in their environment just by recycling products that they use in their daily life!

CapriSun partnered with Terracycle, the eco company that has pioneered the concept that any disposable material can be reused and created into something of value, to create fun products out of the CapriSun juice pouches.

<span class=

Here is me at the show....the recycle bag is so cool! It is extremely sturdy (much to my surprise)...I took it home and my son loved it!!

If you want to participate and start your own Pouch Brigade is very simple...

You can visit www.caprisun.com/terracycle and sign up. You can start earning $.02 per pouch for your school..or you can just follow the steps to send the ones you are collecting already.

You can also purchase some  great pouch accessories for your kids!

Capri makes a Green Fashion Statment for a Worthy Cause

Calling all green fashionistas! CAPRI SUN juice drink pouches have long been a favorite of kids everywhere, and now they may become a favorite of fashionistas, too!

CAPRI SUN and TerraCycle, the eco-company that has pioneered the concept that any disposable material can be reused and created into something of value, are teaming up to present the CAPRI SUN Ready to Re-Wear Runway Show this Wednesday, March 25 at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade Hank Kline Club at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Everything Fabulous will be present to report on the latest eco recycle fashion.

The show features clothing from Bloomingdale’s and accessories crafted by TerraCycle from used CAPRI SUN drink pouches that were formerly sent to landfills.

One of the year’s most eco-friendly events, the runway show—hosted by teen actor AnnaSophia Robb (star of the Disney feature film currently in theatres, Race To Witch Mountain and credits that include Jumper, Bridge to Terabithia, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) will celebrate fashion and the environment.

At the close of the show, a one-of-a-kind dress designed entirely out of CAPRI SUN pouches will be unveiled. The unique dress, crafted by designer Justina Blakeney of Compai, a company renowned for rehabilitating “used and abused” clothing, will be auctioned online for charity at www.ebaygivingworks.com with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

TerraCycle represents a new generation of company, putting as much emphasis on its social and environmental impact as its profits. In 2001, college freshman Tom Szaky founded TerraCycle in hopes of building a new, more responsible way of doing business. Since then, TerraCycle has revolutionized the industry by making eco-friendly and affordable products from waste materials.

The fun doesn’t end at the runway; attendees will have the opportunity to learn the art of upcycling first-hand, as they design accessories made out of reusable materials. Information on how to join forces in the effort to be green while earning money for schools also will be available.

Please make sure you visit www.caprisun.com/terracycle to find out about ways you can help your kids and the community learn about recycling.

I am so excited to be participating in such n eco-friendly event.

New GAP's Fall Collection 2009

<span class=

Gap presented their Fall collection today in London. And, according to Gap's Patrick Robinson, it's going to be "about people walking into the store and eyeing things they think might be three times the price of what they'd expect to see, but then finding out they're a fourth of what they thought."

<span class=

You might ask yourself why they they do it in London and not New York? Even though Gap has deep American roots, the brand is now designed by internationally minded U.S., European, and Japanese teams that Robinson directs out of New York, and this is the first stage of a new Gap road-show strategy demonstrating their joined-up thinking. (Next stop, for Spring 2010, will be Tokyo.)

<span class=

Highlights from the collection: new chino cut with a skinny stovepipe leg, "so it can also be rolled up and worn with a high sandal"; and denim appeared all tailored, deep-indigo dyed pieces.

<span class=

The basic color palette of the collection was full of black, grey and brown with some minimal touches of bright colors.  Which, I don't personally mind since the collection seems full of basic traditional pieces that can survive the pass of time and also play along with other more colorful pieces of your closet!

Love: big chunky scarf (first picture set), high chunky-heeled sheepskin Pierre Hardy boots and curly shearling jacket (second set of pictures).

What are your thought about it?
