Veuve Clicqot Manhattan Polo Classic

The second annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic took place yesterday Governors Island in New York Harbour. Y. Prince harry played on the winning team and Nacho Figueras ( great Argentine polo players that is the face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo Black perfume). It was a charity game and all the profit benefited Sentebale, the charity that Prince Harry has set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. As a good Argentinean, I love spending the day at a polo game...surrounded by gorgeous horses (my passion), great friends, handsome men and why not some great champagne.... It' just fun!!...and the game is great. It's competitive, there is always some risk..and then the fashion factor also never hurts. Yesterday, Madonna, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, and Kate Hudson made it to the VIP party. The game was open to the public but the VIP section started at USD5000 per person.
As far as fashion a lot of natural and earth tones where seeing at the VIP party; from Kate Hudson to Donna Karan to Chloe Sevigny (looking fabulous in a Chloe Short). When going to a polo game for the most part you want to keep it simple but sophisticated...do not over do it. Go fo sophisticated boho chic look with key trendy pieces (a fabulous and trendy fag, a great scarf). Hats are fun, specially if it's a sunny day..but different from the Kentucky Derby big-big hats are not the best for the day...kip it fun with a cool fedora ( the best one was from Kelly Klein) even a fun hat like Chloe Sevigny wore it's better than a big hat (even do I am not crazy about it). The must have pieces for a summer polo outfit are: gladiator sandal, flowery or natural dress (short-mid length) or maxi dress in a rich color, big manly watch, great bag (either a small trendy messenger with a lot of style or a big unstructured good quality bag)..great big glasses. My biggest recommendation is dress simple but with good quality pieces..
What not to wear never ever to a polo game: high heels (love them but pumps have not place at the game), too much makeup ( simple and natural), uncomfortable clothes..you are going to be moving around, even laying in the grass drinking champagne, so wear something you can move around, even though I love linen pants...after a couple of hours you are going to look like one big wrinkle ~but a linen shirt might do it, and red lipstick (even thought it looks great in with certain looks, there is something about being around horses, outside, that make my ears chrrr with red lipstick)..
What is your favourite game to watch?

REISS' Style, Iconic. Modern. Sexy. Confident.
I love Reiss' Spring-summer 2009 collection. Full of flirty pieces in neutral colors with some splash of dark-coral and deep-sky-blue and yellow. Reiss' design is ICONIC, SEXY, CONFIDENT, MODERN...and I would also add feminine and chic. The quality and design of their clothes makes them the "to-go"store for affordable luxury. Some of their pieces (most) have a classic style that you could keep using season after season!
Seafood Pasta With Roasted Garlic Butter
A fabulous pasta dish that you can prepare in 15 minutes. Great for a mid-week meal with the family or friends. A good rose would go very well with this pasta dish. Stock your freezer with frozen shrimp (peeled and and deveined) and you can prepare this dish in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
300g (1 box) dried spaghetti
2 tablespoon unsalted Butter
6 cloves garlic, chopped coarsely
1⁄2 cup finely chopped onions
1 pound medium shrimp - defrosted
2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary, plus 4 to 6 sprigs for garnish
Kosher salt to taste
Cracked black pepper to taste
Preparation
1. Bring a large pan of water to boil. Add the spaghetti and cook for 8-10 minutes until just cooked (al dente).
2. Meanwhile, melt the butter with the garlic in a medium frying pan, add the sliced onions and saute for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the shrimp, and cook for a further 2-3 minutes until just cooked and very hot ( if using frozen shrimp just cook for 6-8 more minutes).
3. Drain the spaghetti then tip it over the shrimp and the buttery juice. Mix well and season with cracked black pepper & salt. Add parsley and mix all together. ( I personally like to add a little bit of lemon juice..but the recipe does not call for it).
4. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with the fresh parsley.
You can use if wanted some Parmesan cheese (although I learned with Victoria Amory that pasta and seafood should not be garnished with cheese..). You can try other seafood with this recipe.
and voila...it is a very simple dish that you can make in 5 minutes that with good bread, wine and friends make for a perfect Friday night meal!

Gwyneth Paltrow’s House in the Hamptons
I love peaking into people's houses and closet! Specially when they belong to a stylish icon as Gweneth Paltrow. Gwyneth and her rocker hubby Chris Martin purchased their trendy East End home in the Hamptons back in 2006, and let's just say 'amazing' doesn't even begin to describe their magnificent home. The house was featured in House & Garden two years ago but still I found it extremely stylish. She was very involved in the design of her serene new home. “I’ve become an encyclopedia of design for my friends,” she told House & Garden. The house is decorated in very serene pallets with splashes of color that bring a level of sophistication to it. I particularly love the kitchen done in a dark charcoal color. She described her aesthetic as “minimalist with a feminine twist.

The geometric-patterned wallpaper in the powder room and charcoal cabinets in the kitchen bring the noir rocker look to a more sophisticated level. She used a lot of wallpaper through out the house, as seen in the staircase and her bedroom in more tone down colors. The palette for her bedroom is very serene in lilac and cream. How cute is Apple's bedroom (Gweneth's daughter)? Apparently Apple herself choose the rich fuchsia for her bed.
She has a separate yoga studio where she spends quite some time exercising with the fabulous Tracey Anderson.

Ines de la FRESSANGE, is she really reinventing Roger Vivier
Remember Ines de La Fresange? The muse for Lagarfeld and Mugler in the '80s, the same one that was chosen as s symbol of the country (France) in 1989? She was probably one of the first top models that I started noticing...and the old time symbol of chicness for me. She taught me the love of white shirts. Today Ines de la Fressange is in charge of reinventing Roger Vivier, the legendary French footwear label. an she sat down with Interview Magazine to talk about hose she got here.
"AFTER HAVING BEEN PR, BOUTIQUE DIRECTOR, OPERATOR, MESSENGER, AND EVERYTHING ELSE, I'M FINALLY IN THE ROLE I LIKE THE MOST-COURT JESTER."—INES DE LA FRESSANGE
I love the fact that Ines was on top of the world at one point but but she was humble enough to do whatever was needed to get the job done. From folding shoes herself, to sending mailings. These are the type of people that I like meeting, the ones that have a range to their personalities that they are not define for one moment int heir life, rather they keep defining themselves and therefore their reality as they go... Under her guidance, Vivier has gone from an iconic name of the past to a wildly-expanding hot commodity. It doesn’t hurt that de la Fressange thinks fashion is best served with wine over lunch instead of as a sales pitch. (love the wine part myself! fashion and wine, fabulous!!)
Read more of her interview..love her take in what fashion really is..
SARAH: How did you get on board at Roger Vivier?
INÈS DE LA FRESSANGE: Well, that’s why I really love [Diego] Della Valle, because he’s crazy. Instead of going out to find a top business school graduate, for whom it would have taken five years to see the difference between a ballet shoe and a book, he asked me to revive the label. It’s a bit like Balenciaga. Brands like Vivier are pillars—they are monuments of fashion; they are names we don’t forget. But the general public doesn’t necessarily know that and therefore we had to get the name re-known.
S: When was that you join?
IF: It was 1995 or ’96. It wasn’t really the vintage period, so maybe it was a bit too soon. But he was a great teacher and I have a lot of respect for him. All shoe designers were inspired by him, since he went in so many directions. So, when Della Valle proposed my coming over, I loved the idea. This Vivier office didn’t exist. I didn’t have a telephone line, or a bank account. I had a cell phone and a laptop. People were calling me as if I were the press director at Dior. Like, “Send us 10 pictures.” Ten pictures with my phone, you don’t know how long that took! And we’re making the packets ourselves. It was very funny to be putting together a luxury brand on all fours. Even when we moved in here, one minute I was letting in Anna Wintour, and the next I was going to buy garbage cans. I was going to the flea markets to buy furniture. It was getting done the way it was getting done—on a small scale and with a lot of soul and heart and risk. We did fashion like fashion was done before—spontaneously, with joy and freedom, and that’s what created our identity.
S: Now that it’s becoming a great empire, are you still going to keep up that kind of intense creativity?
IF: One thing Della Valle taught me is the power to say no if something isn’t right. That mattered even over sales. Now it’s rolling and finally, after having been PR, boutique director, operator, messenger, and everything else, I’m finally in the role I like the most—court jester. And that’s what I was doing at Chanel before.
S: Your creativity is still expressed in the company, like when you chose to make those bags out of paper.
IF: We had to get Vivier known a bit in Hong Kong. I said to myself, There are all these labels coming into China throwing gloomy receptions at the boutiques, giving out fetid champagne. I wanted them to understand that Vivier was different. That you could be luxurious without being uptight. That you could be French without being conventional and grim. So I did a collection of useless and absurd bags in Hong Kong. I got the label known in two days because of it. It’s important to keep up the idea of the brand, even beyond sales. I did these lunches. I would invite a writer, a psychoanalyst, a banker, a lawyer, a mind reader, a fashion journalist, and an actress, or something like that. And in the room there would be 20,000 sheets of silver leaf and Vivier’s collages . . . The people would laugh a lot, we’d drink a huge amount, the food and wine were exquisite, and then they would leave. The journalist couldn’t believe she was leaving without a press packet. I thought this was the way the name would become known, you see? I remember a lunch with Catherine Deneuve and Bernard Chapuis.
S: How do you see fashion evolving?
IF: Fashion is made up of paradoxes. There was a key moment in fashion. When the Japanese first arrived—Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto, and all—I have to humbly admit that I didn’t understand the importance of it at all. It was Jean-Jacques Picart who explained it to me. They had a huge influence in that they showed that aestheticism could be different from prettiness, that there was beauty and that beauty was beyond pretty. They showed girls who had plaster spots on their faces, who looked like they were coming out of a nuclear war, with clodhoppers and no tights, their hair a mess. And then there’s the influence on someone like Giorgio Armani. For example, I knew Armani—I really come off as an old lady here—but his line looked like a Pierre Cardin or an Yves Saint Laurent collection when I first met him. After the Japanese, all of a sudden there were those round collars, girls with square-cut hair, almost no makeup, no jewelry, no nail polish—the beautiful Armani, you know, from the ’80s. That was clearly the influence of the Japanese. But overall when you work in fashion, you’re always in a rush. You’re always a little late, always in a hurry. Every single moment’s important, so you never have enough time to do what you want to do. It’s ridiculous.
S: In everybody’s mind. When you ask people anywhere who represents French elegance, you’re the one they mention.
IF: I’d take my father’s V-neck sweaters and some
topsiders, which were the ancestors of Converse sneakers, and I’d wear those with jeans and a fur coat.
S: You were improvising then.
IF: Absolutely. One day, I just had white pants, a big white jacket, a white fedora. On a whim, I took a burnt cork and gave myself a big moustache, Aldo Maccione–style, all bent over like an old playboy, and I was clowning around with my big fat moustache. It was so much fun. Now everybody says “sexy” all the time. We absolutely never said “sexy” back then. I was being silly, so I didn’t really stand out, but I was a clown.
I like the Vivre shoes but more like a piece of art..I really don't know if I could wear them ( if price was not an issue). Do you like Vivre shoes> would you wear them?

First Look at Scarlett Johansson ad campaign for Mango
As I told you yesterday Scarlet Johansson signed up with Mango to be the face of their new Fall/Winter 09/10 ad campaign photographed by Mario Sorrentino. Mango tells WWD, “[Scarlett is an] extraordinary personality, fun, young. She’s Mango’s ideal urban woman, independent and cosmopolitan.” Curiously Scarllet Johansson is following the steps of Penelope Cruz, both actresses starred in Woody Allen’s flick Vicky Christina Barcelona. ( Thanks Jen Laceda for this connection!!..) I like her new hair cut...I think it's fun.
Look of the day: Model Hilary Rhod
The fabulous Hilary Rhod attended the 37th Annual FiFi Awards held at The Armory in
New York. She wore a beige strapless fitted Jacques Fath dress. Fabulous strappy sandals from Jimmy Choo. She was wearing this season trend chunky chandelier earrings. Love it just classy and sexy! Her makeup also I think is a hit!
Love just classy & sexy.

The sensual Scarlett Johansson is set to model for Mango. She will appear in the autumn/winter 2009 campaign. Penelope Cruz was the face of Mango for the last three seasons. Scarlet Johansson, known for her hourglass curves, latest fashion campaign was for Dolce & Gabanna where she played the role of a voluptuous blonde muse (very Marlin Monroe). Mango fashion style is more natural and boho-chic so it would be interesting to see what what will be her look.

Do you sometimes wonder how do fashion insiders dress?
Do you ever wonder what fashion insiders are really wearing? These style insiders sometimes push certain trends that we eagerly jump to, but if we would really see the way they dress, would their word still have the same impact?? That's one of the reasons I love Show me your wardrobe a blog by Jackie Dixon about what people behind the camera from photographer, to stylist, to fashion editors are wearing. I have done a post in the past about her blog here. It's a great blog to visit when you are in a fashion rut and you need some inspiration!

Change your body shape with Tracy Anderson's workout tunes (at least Gweneth and Madonna did)
Have you heard about Tracy Anderson ? She is the haute celebrity trainer that changed Madonna's bulky muscular body and helped Gweneth Paltrow loose inches and get her pre-baby body back.Anderson’s method has become famous not just for trimming bodies but also for transforming them. Her approach, in a nutshell, is about targeting what she calls the “accessory muscles” that line large muscle groups like biceps and quadriceps to achieve an effect that makes your limbs lean and your body teeny-tiny. “They’re the beauty muscles,” she says.
And what better way to motivate ourselves for bikini season than to get her essential moves (see video) and dance to the her must playlist ( we might not share Gweneth's trainer but we sure can exercise to the same bit)..
1. “Radar,” Britney Spears
2. “Miles Away,” Madonna
3. “Viva La Vida,” Coldplay
4. “Jai Ho,” A.R. Rahman, Sukhvinder Singh, Tanvi Shah and Mahalaxmi Iyer (from Slumdog Millionaire)
5. “Incredible,” Madonna
6. “Disturbia,” Rihanna
7. “Release Me,” Agnes Carlsson

11. “Just Dance,” Lady GaGa & Colby O’Donis
12. “Stronger,” Kanye West
13. “Closer,” Ne-Yo
14. “Lose Control,” Missy Elliott featuring Ciara and Fat Man Scoop
Keep reading to see Tracy's basic moves plus helpful links to get her webisodes.
Initiation fees run from $787.50 to $1,500, depending on the length of membership, and the $900 monthly dues include unlimited classes and semiprivate sessions.
If you are extremly motivated to get lean and trim for summer season you can visit her at Tracy Anderson Connect and download the webisodes (so far she has three different ones- abs workout, butt&thighs & arms workout). As a true Madonaa's friend all proceeds form her webisodes will go to Raising Malawi Foundation. Note: each webisode is only $10 (not bad).

Hello all!Hope you had a fabulous weekend! It was a rainy weekend for us here in Florida, but we still manage to play outside with the kids a little bit. I set everything aside and just devoted myself to my kids for the weekend...we cooked, draw, play games, watch movies, eat popcorn. But now I am overwhelmed with everything I have pending! Too much and not enough time!
Hope you have a great weekend!!! and remember that it all start with a thought..we first think, then feel, then experience..! Think yourself fabulous, feel fabulous....live fabulous!!! even at 100km/miles per hour!

Fabulous Brunch dish ~ German Apple Pancake!
If you like tarts or cakes, you are going to love this German apple cake! Perfect dish to make for a intimate Sunday brunch, and take the leftovers to a picnic somewhere to celebrate Memorial Day! The traditional way of making it is to flip the pancake in the pan while on the stove but you can also end up cooking it in the oven.
Enjoy!
Ingredients
5 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup Plus 1 tbsp granulated sugar
1/3 cup ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp fine salt
1 1/2 tbsp insulated butter
2 large, tart apples, peeled, cored, and cut into wedges ( I love apples so I usually use at least 4 apples. if you double the apples, double the butter the rest is the same!)
1 tsp ground Cinnamon
1 tbsp confectionery sugar
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C)
2. Combine eggs, vanilla and 1/2 cup granulated sugar in blender. add the flour, baking powder and salt and mix until smooth. Let it stand for at least 10 minutes.
3. Melt butter in a nonstick ovenproof pan over medium heat.
4. When the butter has foamed saute the apples, stirring occasionally until softened, approx 3-4minutes.
5. Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon and the rest of the granulated sugar. Saute until apples are glazed and the edges are a little bit translucent, approximately 2 minutes.
6. Arrange the apples evenly in the pan and pour the mix slowly over the top ( try to have the apples stay in place).
7. Reduce heat to medium low and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, until bottom is firm.
8. transfer the pan to the oven and cook until the top of the pancake is firm, about 10 more minutes.
9. You can invert the pancake into a plate or just put it on the table with the pan.
if it's just the family I love to just put the pan in the table. Sprinkle with confectionery sugar. You can serve with some creme fraiche !
and voila...a fabulous breakfast/brunch pancake!!

In need of some hair inspiration
Try a fluffy ponytail!! It's a great style that brings some chicness to a look. You can do it when wearing a very simple outfit (jeans and t-shirt) and bring it up a notch or the other way around, bring a dress outfit a notch down!!If you are going all the way glam, after grabbing all your hair leave just a strand on the side. Put the rest of the hair on a bun and end the look wrapping the strand of hair left around the band. Finish with a clip. Get some hair spray in your hand and pass it around the hair holding the bun to avoid tiny hairs coming out. and voila!!! Fab hair in 5 minutes.
