cake sticks from the grocery store (or swizzle sticks…straws…etc.)
scissors

* Choose one of the ribbons and form a loop. Creating a “slip knot” around the white stick, secure the ribbon into a flag.
* Pull ribbon tightly through to create a “knot”. Choose a second ribbon and repeat steps 1 – 3
* Trim excess ribbon to form a stylized flag. Use as many different patterned and colored ribbons to create darling flags for appetizers, drinks, desserts & more!

* Mix fabric paint with paint extender in a 2-1 ratio.
* Using a stencil brush gentle tap between the tape strips. Layer more tape as needed.

Sunburst Patriotic Cookies

A toothpick dragged through wet icing is the secret to the starburst effect.

* Cover cookies in white icing {always leaving 1/4-inch border}.
* Using blue or red icing, immediately pipe a dot in the center of the cookie and then keep adding circular stripes.
* Using a toothpick dragged icing away from the center to create sunburst effect.

Cute Napkin Rings
Photobucket
Fashion a set of napkin rings!
Materials
grosgrain ribbon or twill tape
2 D rings
fabric glue

* Cut 9-inch grosgrain ribbon. Notch 1 end.
* Loop the other end through the 2-d rings, wrapping ribbon around the ribbons' straight edges and glue it to itself.
* Center a roll napkin in the ribbon and tied it as you would do a belt.

Fun Ice Pops

Ingredients
1 cup cranberry juice
1 cup lemonade
1 cup blue sports drink, such as Gatorade

* Arrange 8 3-oz. paper or plastic cups on a baking sheet and divide cranberry juice evenly among them. Place baking sheet in freezer and freeze until juice is almost firm, about 1 hour.
Insert craft sticks into center of slightly frozen juice. (If sticks won't quite stand up straight, you can repositions them when the next layer starts to solidify.)
* Divide lemonade evenly among cups to make a second layer. Freeze until hard, about 2 hours.
* Pour Gatorade over lemonade layer and freeze until solid, about 3 hours. Gently pull each ice pop out of its cup (it helps to squeeze the cup lightly from bottom) and serve immediately.

Fabulous Drinks

This summer, rediscover the daiquiri. Bacardi Hand Shaken Daiquiri is the perfect addition to any summer get-together — fun, delicious, and ready to pour. Bacardi Hand Shaken Daiquiri is made with Bacardi Superior Rum, tangy lime and sugar. It is a perfectly balanced cocktail that is not too sour and not too sweet.

Suggestion for the Bacardi Hand-Shaken Daiquiri:
Step 1: Moisten the rim of a tall glass then dip in sugar to rim the edges
Step 2: Pour over ice
Step 3: Garnish with a lime wedge
Step 4: Enjoy!

Aww I seriously can't wait for the 4th of July weekend! I'm usually cooking/baking up blue reds and whites, but this year I'll be staying at the beach, in a hotel, and will miss out on the home-style bbq. But I'm way excited to take in the cities festivites.
