I am such a fan of romantic chignons, messy buns, chestnut bun and now the ballerina bun... but thought the latest was totally out of my reach with my thin hair.... until I discovered the ballerina-sock bun! Love it because it looks so much thicker and fab!
Have you ever done it before?
Here is the video and step by step:

Tip: to keep your sock doughnut from unrolling...simply tide some rubber bands around it!

:D I do this all the time! Sock buns are the best. And mine usually stays in place without any bands but I guess that might vary depending on your hair texture...

I sported a sock bun today at work. Yes... sock and all. (even though my mom and sister call me a ballerina) I love how my hair looks like it has volume, and it holds it back without having to redo it. I do love the messy bun look too, but I find myself redoing it multiple times a day.
You should try it!
Tried it and it works! fab trick!
I wear my hair like this most of the days, is so simple but so chic!

Oh, thank you thank you thank you!!! I love ballerina buns but with my thin hair they look a bit odd. I'm definitely going to try this out! Thanks again =)

I have tried to do this so many times without success. And I have really long, thick hair! Am I just doomed to never have a perfect bun? I have layers, so that tends to get in the way of making it look perfect. Any suggestions?

Gosh, this is an astonishing idea. I had no clue there was a way to achieve such a beautiful hairdo in such an easy and affordable way. Thank you so much!
That's awesome! I adore the ballerina buns. I like a whispy look that's still chic enough to wear out.
