A Super Sweet Bridal Shower {full of great inspiration!}

How "sweet" is this candy-theme bridal shower? Love all the great ideas that can be easily applied to a baby shower or birthday party... like the french fries in glassine bags, or the Lemon Drop cocktails punched up with swizzle sticks, or the crowd-pleasing mini milkshakes served in double shot glasses and garnished with chocolate chip cookies!!! The candy bar was done using acrylic rectangles containers for the perimeter and the letters where custom made {I Love Lucite (310-966-0740)}. Keep in mind that you should calculate 1/4 pound of candy per person when preparing a candy bar. Great candy sources are Candy.com, RockCandy.com and CandyWarehouse.com.
Friends were asked to write "sweet wishes" using candy-shaped note cards!

Morning Coffe + Pretty Lingerie!

Photobucket
Good morning lovelies!! Hope you had a wonderful long weekend!! I definitely need some extra coffee and good intentions to start the week after all the drinking and eating I indulged in the last couple of days!!!

Speaking about good intentions, this cute baby doll totally inspired me to just put my comfy shorts and tops away and open the drawer of lace night-gowns, glam chemise and satin nighties! At the end is about treating ourselves special... and nothing like some sheer lace baby-doll to feel glamorous! How do you sleep?

Let's have a fabulous week!

Food: Mozzarella, Tomato and Avocado Salad

Photobucket
Maybe is the good weather, or watching the calories intake, but I have been craving fresh, yummy salads that you can pair it with a good wine and have a simple but luscious al fresco dinner!
And this pearl mozzarella, cherry tomato and avocado salad with basil and lemon had me at the first bite!

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
1 container cherry tomatoes, cut in half
1 carton fresh mozzarella cheese pearls, drained
1 avocado, peeled and diced
1/3 cup basil, julienned
2 tablespoons fresh parsley
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup olive oil
salt and pepper
baguette-optional

1. In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and parsley. Set aside.
2. In a small bowl, whisk the lemon juice, oil, salt and pepper. Pour over tomato mixture. Toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
3. Just before serving the salad, stir in the chopped avocados. Serve salad with toasty bread.
... and voila you have a great, fresh salad that you can pair it up with some Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay!!

If you are hosting a party you can serve the salad in kabobs for a fabulous presentation!

Decor Inspiration: The home of Erin Fetherson

Photobucket

“It’s romantic and chic, but clean and modern.” the way the designer describes her Tribecca apartment. I would add modern with a touch of whimsy...!

Love the main entrance doors {hello, talking about first impressions!}, the high ceilings and the great windows that happen to overlook the Hudson River. The main sofas are from ABC Home and the vintage chairs are from France! It's incredible how such a tiny detail as adding some vintage silk roses to the Holly Hunt candle chandelier creates such a magic touch to the space.

Hope you had a lovely weekend and are on your way to a fabulous week!

* If you like the candle chandelier Restoration Hardware have a similar one but a fraction of the price.

A Fun Project!

Photobucket
Samsung Coast to Coast visit South Florida last week and I was  thrilled to be asked to be a part of it! As part of the launching campaign for their new wi-fi enabled Samsung SH100 {basically is the new camera that you can even do retouching on it before you send your pictures directly to Facebook, twitter or you tube} they embarked on a road trip from LA to New York City, where they meet bloggers and share candid snapshots from their day to day. Then they upload the photos to their Facebook page where people can vote for their fav picture!

Being in front of the camera is something that is not easy for me...as bubbly and spontaneous I am, put a camera in front of me, make me pose... and suddenly I feel I am channeling Ramona from the Real Housewives of New York City!! But since my life motto is to not let fear stop me from doing anything and I am constantly pushing myself to work out of my comfort zone... I said yes to posing for pictures in Miami!! Plus I want to start sharing more of me, and things I do around here so, I thought this was a great way to start!

Monica & Chin, from the Samsung team, where super nice and made the experience so much richer... and after two mojitos I relaxed and enjoyed every second of it! From all the pcitures taken they choose the ones that where very personal... and more relatable I guess, but  now you be the judge... and honestly tell me your thoughts.. and if you like you can also vote!!! Great Gift Ideas to Bring to Parties or Get Togethers!

Photobucket
Nothing like celebrating and spending quality time with friends and family! This is probably one of the things I like the most about Spring and Summer, all the great parties and get togethers that come with it!

When invited to a party, I love surprising the host with a cute gift! It's fun to introduce your friends to something they might not know or something they might never buy for themselves. I try to look for pretty objects for the table or kitchen. Some new cooking ingredients I found or some new tableware accessories, and if I'm feeling creative I take something I made myself.

Here are some of my gift suggestions:

Photobucket
1. Carnaby Nesting Trays by Jonathan Adler
2. Monogrammed DuraClear® Tumbler, Set of 6 by Williams-Sonoma
3. Antonini Olive Wood Cheese Knives & Board by Williams-Sonoma
4. Glass Beverage Dispenser by Williams-Sonoma
5. Premium Balsamic Vinegar & Basil Oil by o&Co
6. Nifty Napkins by Anthropology
7. Cylinder Baskets, set of 2 by Bamboula
8. Lucky Plant Gift by Martha Stewart

A pretty packaging always makes the gift even more special!! What are some of the things you like to give to your host/hostess?

This summer, rediscover the daiquiri. Bacardi Hand Shaken Daiquiri is the perfect addition to any summer get-together — fun, delicious, and ready to pour. Bacardi Hand Shaken Daiquiri is made with Bacardi Superior Rum, tangy lime and sugar. It is a perfectly balanced cocktail that is not too sour and not too sweet.

Suggestion for the Bacardi Hand-Shaken Daiquiri:
Step 1: Moisten the rim of a tall glass then dip in sugar to rim the edges
Step 2: Pour over ice
Step 3: Garnish with a lime wedge
Step 4: Enjoy!
