Ready for labor day? Always enjoy having an element of surprise when hosting a fete in my house or working on an event... something that people know already but is used in a different way! And these strawberry bruschettas with goat cheese and a dash of balsamic and basil it definitely caught my attention! Plus the recipe is super simple!

Here is the recipe {with a printer doc version!}:

Ingredients

* 1 cup strawberries, hulled and diced
* 1 tbsp. sugar
* 1 French baguette, sliced on a bias
* 4 oz. goat cheese
* 1 tbsp. olive oil
* 2 tsp. balsamic vinegar
* ¼ cup minced basil leaves
* Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

1. Combine the strawberries and sugar in a small bowl; toss to combine.
2. Let the berries macerate for about 30 minutes so that they begin to release their juices.
3. Spread a thin layer of goat cheese on top of each baguette slice. Top each slice with spoonfuls of the strawberry mixture.
4. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Top each slice with the basil leaves and cracked pepper, to taste.

...and voila you have a fabulous and luscious appetizer with an element of surprise! How about you, what is something that you like to do when entertaining?

Decor Inspiration: Jacqui Getti Hollywood Home {A Touch of Fuschia}

Love how all the bunches of peonies and dahlias throughout Jacqui Getti's Spanish-style Hollywood home add a feminine touch to the decor!! I definitely need to try to do this at home!!
A chic, elegant but very comfortable house filled with texture and interesting objects, form the Hermes blanket in the  boho-chic backyard chaise to a tangerine chair in the main living room to a vintage chandelier in the office/library.

Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

Fashion Inspiration: Lazzari Fall 2011 Lookbook

How romantic is this Italian collection? It's all about polka-dots this fall season and instead of going with the traditional black and white I am loving the softer neutral and born or neutral and black look! The Bridgete Bardot inspired styling of the photo shoot is simple divine!

Can I please rent a desk in this office? It's not overly done but is filled with gorgeous accents. Hilary and and Katherine, WWW founders, did a great job at creating an eclectic balance between whites, blacks, wood and glam accents..!!

.....love to see they also like to add a coral accent to their bookshelves!

Happy Friday lovelies!!!

You will need:
* Heels {the Loubs from the picture are a flea market find and only cost USD 5}
* Gold glitter
* Acrylic glue
* Sandpaper
* A paint brush

1. Clean the shoes, and then lightly sand them to rough up the surface so the glue sticks properly.
2. Mix the glue and glitter together in a container.

Photobucket
3. Paint the shoe with the glitter glue.
4. Sprinkle with extra glitter to fully coat the shoes. Don't worry about getting glitter inside the shoes, just clean them up once the glue has dried.

5. If you missed some spots, give them a second coat. You may get away with a single coat, but feel free to do a second coat if required.

... and voila you are ready to shine!!!
